Quality in Care Awards 2024

The 2024 awards ceremony was held at the Civic Hall on Friday 31 January 2025.

We received a great number of nominations, and all the finalists demonstrated a huge commitment through their personal dedication and teamwork. There were many fantastic examples of truly innovative and person-centred approaches to care delivery.

Award winners

There were 10 award categories and the winners and those highly commended were:

Social care nurse of the Year

  • Winner: Meenu Francis
  • Highly commended: Ian Latta, Sarah Crabtree

New Paid Care or Support Worker of the Year

  • Winner: Thandolwenkosi Dube
  • Highly commended: Chloe Mather, Kiki Hudson

Established Paid Care or Support Worker of the Year

  • Winner: Tracy Smith
  • Highly commended: Sharon Caley-Smith and Amy Eggett, Yeluta Berhe

Volunteer of the Year

  • Winner: Lisa Jones
  • Highly commended: Patricia Rand, David Hamilton

Registered Manager of the Year

  • Winner: Lucie Cerna
  • Highly commended: Indi Matharu, Siphiwe Sibanda, Zsuzsanna Antal

Best Recruitment and Retention Initiative

  • Winner: Unique Support Solutions
  • Highly commended: Ghyll Royd Care Home, Leeds City Council SkILs Reablement

Most Innovative Approach to Supporting Independence, Choice and Control

  • Winner: Health and Homeless Intervention Beds Service
  • Highly commended: Corinthian House Care Home, Aspire Community Benefit Society

Most Inclusive Service Provision

  • Winner: Park Avenue Care Home
  • Highly commended: Leeds City Council, Adults and Health Care Delivery Service, Unique Support Solutions

Digital Innovation to Support Independence

  • Winner: Park Avenue Care Home
  • Highly commended: Beech Hall Care Home, Leeds City Council East B Reablement Team

Outstanding Contribution to Social Care: 

  • Winner: Julie Brown
